The social work profession Act was passed on October 6, 2009, and received royal assent on October 8, 2009. It will be referred to as S169 in the C.C.S.M. It will come into effect by proclamation.
81(1) This Act, except section 77, comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation.
81(2) Section 77 comes into force on the day this Act receives royal assent.
The act finally regulates the profession in Manitoba. According to 4(1) of the bill, The Manitoba Institute of Registered Social Workers, incorporated by a private Act of the Legislature, is continued as a body corporate to be known as the Manitoba College of Social Workers.
Regulations will be posted here as they become available. For a more fully authoritative version please consult the government of Manitoba web site.

Installing and Using a Proxy bookmarklet.
What is a proxy bookmarklet, and how do I install one?
A proxy bookmarklet allows you to access a web site from outside the libraries' web pages, that normally may require authentication. For example if you've been sent an e-mail, about a new source, perhaps from a friend or colleague, you can use the proxy bookmarklet to add the U of Manitoba's proxy information to the URL. You would then be prompted to insert your student number and PIN and have direct access to that resource.
