I'll leave this blog up for a little while, perhaps until the end of the month, but won't be making any more contributions to it. If you hadn't heard, I won't be the Liaison Librarian for SWRK anymore, and hence will be taking this blog down shortly.
You can still follow me on Twitter, and my non-SWRK musings on my blog at ambrosamman.blogspot. See you there,

Installing and Using a Proxy bookmarklet.
What is a proxy bookmarklet, and how do I install one?
A proxy bookmarklet allows you to access a web site from outside the libraries' web pages, that normally may require authentication. For example if you've been sent an e-mail, about a new source, perhaps from a friend or colleague, you can use the proxy bookmarklet to add the U of Manitoba's proxy information to the URL. You would then be prompted to insert your student number and PIN and have direct access to that resource.

Denying long term support to alcoholics
An interesting court decision. Make of this what you will.
The Ontario Court of Appeal has upheld rulings that said denying two chronic alcoholics long-term support payments would violate the province's HumanRights
Code.
